Simeulue is far off, but easy to reach. There are frequent air
connections with Medan, Banda Aceh and Meulaboh. The only airport is
Lasikin, 12 km west of Sinabang. The airlines offer transportation
between your address in town and the airport to a fair price. There
are also car ferries from Labuhan Haji and Singkil. The two airlines
NBA and Merpati are cheaper, but risk of delays and cancellations
are greater.

Susi Air flies daily at 06.20 and 14.50 and returns to Medan at
07.40 and 16.10. Rp. 700.000.
Merpati flies Tue, Thur, and Sun. at 09.00. Return to Medan at

Medan – Sinabang – Meulaboh – Banda Aceh:
NBA flies Mon. and Wed. From Medan mornings. Return from Banda Aceh
at noon. Mdn-Sinabang Rp. 485.000. Sinabang-Meulaboh: Rp. 175.000,

 Note that you can take the same boat all the way between Pulau
Banyak and Sinabang. Cabins are rented from the crew onboard.
HOW GO AROUND
There are minibuses, called "L300", connecting most places around
the island with Sinabang. The ring road is almost ready and most
parts are in good condition. However, you need either a motorbike or
a 4-wheel-drive to go all the way around.
Three companies service all of Simeulue. A few departures a day for
example: 10.00 towards Nasreuhe (Salang) and 14.00 towards Sibigo.
Sinabang - Kampung Air: Rp. 30.000, 4 hrs ride.
Sinabang – Salang: Rp. 50.000.
Sinabang – Lhok Pauh (Alafan): Rp. 60.000.
Sinabang – Teluk Dalam: Rp. 15.000, 2 hrs ride.
Sinabang – Sibigo: Rp. 40.000.

RENTALS
An alternative is to rent a car or motorbike. Several hotels have
both available. Cars can be rented both with and without driver.
Expect Rp. 400-600.000 per day. The higher price is with a driver. A
motorbike is maybe Rp. 100.000 per day. Don’t forget to bargain.
